Bobby Berk's Insider Art Advice

Dwell on Design charitably hosted an art styling event presented by design extraordinaire and much beloved "queer eye" superstar Bobby Berk.

For those of you living under a rock, Bobby is the "design" authority on Netflix's reboot of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy', now more conservatively titled, 'Queer Eye.'

His aesthetic has been dubbed "hip, minimalist urban luxury", his designs epitomizing a "stylish and youthful spirit that perfectly fits any cool, relaxed lifestyle."

With praise like this, what's not to love?

Naturally, we we're in complete agreeance with his insider tips to spruce up your space for Spring and knew we had to share.

Bobby Berk's Insider Art Advice

1. Add a Mat

Matting frames can actually tone down art that might otherwise be too bold for your composition. They also create a museum-quality display.

2. Large Format Art

Always go larger than you think. Oversized artwork is a simple way to make a huge impact. Placing it in the right spot immediately injects personality into your projects.

3. Balance

Placing a large, oversize piece adjacent to a gallery wall consisting of multiple smaller works will help achieve balance.

What do you think? We would love to lend our expertise if you're feeling overwhelmed with the blank walls in your home. Stop by the studio (address below) and start framing something both you (and your walls) will appreciate.
